\u00bbEndo\u00ab kommt aus dem Griechischen bedeutet \u00bbdrinnen, innerhalb\u00ab (\u03ad\u03bd\u03b4\u03bf\u03bd) und \u00bbdontie\u00ab steht f\u00fcr Zahn (\u03bf\u03b4\u03bf\u03cd\u03c2 bzw. \u03bf\u03b4\u03ce\u03bd). Endodontie ist also die Behandlung im Inneren des Zahnes.<\/p>

It is the prevention or elimination of apical periodontitis (the body's defense response in bone tissue), or more specifically, periradicular periodontitis. In other words:<\/p>

Endodontics is a specialty of dentistry that focuses on the treatment of the root canal and the surrounding tissue.<\/p>

The goal is the prevention and treatment of inflammations of the tooth socket, which can result from an infection of the root canal (the inner part of the tooth).<\/p>

A healthy tooth does not have bacteria inside, which is why there are no inflammatory reactions.<\/p>

However, if the tooth's inner space is infected and the tissue (nerve) is dead (necrotic), the inflamed tissue and bacteria must be removed to prevent the body's defense reaction (synonyms: chronic apical periodontitis, focus, pus).<\/p>

Only if this is successfully achieved in the long term can it be considered a success.<\/p>

That is an endodontic treatment.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
