Root canal treatment (Pulpectomy)

Root canal treatments are considered routine procedures in dentistry. In many countries, this treatment is performed by specialists specifically trained in this field.

Every year, 14 million root canal treatments are performed worldwide. With expert treatment, your natural tooth can be saved, preventing the need for an implant or bridge.

In the center of a tooth is the pulp, a well-vascularized tissue. Inflammation or infection of the pulp can be caused by trauma, cavities, or cracks.

Symptoms include:

  • Swelling of the mucous membrane
  • Sensitivity to temperature
  • Pain in the tooth and the surrounding mucous membrane (gingiva)

How is this treatment performed?

The diseased or injured pulp is removed, and the tooth is then sealed. This therapy is performed, depending on the diagnosis, in one or more sessions under local anesthesia. The success rate is 90%.
